When will electric cars take off commercially? Will they ever actually manage it?

Yes, they will manage it. The most expensive part of an electric car is the battery. Experts predict that battery prices will fall below €300/kWh in the next few years. Given that, as the cost of gas, petrol and diesel is rising year by year, it is only a matter of time before electric cars become more cost-efficient than petrol cars. In fact, electric vehicles that annually clock up lots of city kilometres (such as electric buses) are set to take off commercially in just a few years.
